Literary Residency Program - VISEGRAD FUND

Literary residencies are intended to develop and promote V4 literature by providing support to the work and mobility of talented writers of fiction and non-fiction, poets, essayists, critics as well as literary translators, publicists and journalists from V4 countries by creating a platform for literary exchanges.

Literary residencies are run in partnership with Villa Decius in Cracow, Institut umění in Prague, Petőfi Irodalmi Múzeum in Budapest and Literárne infor­mačné cen­trum in Bratislava. Each of the partners (Villa Decius, Petőfi Irodalmi Múzeum, Institut umění and Literárne infor­mačné cen­trum) accomodates a group of four residents (one from each V4 country), who work on their individual literary projects and also participate in literary events organized by the host.

Residents can carry 6-week/3-month projects in the host institutions from May 1 to June 12 period (Compact Spring Edition) or September 1 to November 30 (Regular Autumn Edition)

The amount of support is €1,125 for the Compact Spring Edition and €2,250 for Regular Autumn Edition

The 2020 edition of the residency program will enable 32 residents to carry their literary projects in 4 host institutions in one of the given periods: 1st May – 12th June 2020 and 1st September – 30th November 2020 (Regular Autumn Edition).
